How to Find Bus Routes in Campus Parent Portal


From the menu select "More"	Click "Bus Routes"	Bus Route information will appear for the selected student. If you have more than one student, click the arrow next to the student photo in the top right to change students.

We want to remind our families that the “Forgot Password” and "Forget Username" links on the Infinite Campus login page do not work. You can reset your password or retrieve your username at any time using this link: https://changepassword.sowashco.org/pwm/private/login.

(All guardians are automatically issued a Parent Portal account when they provide us with an email address. You do not need to request an account and you likely already have credentials assigned.)

Forgotten Username: Click on Forgotten Username. You will be asked to provide your email. If our system has a username associated with that email (if you have more than one email, try all of them), it will provide you with your username. Usernames are typically a guardian’s first name and last name with a period in the middle.

Forgotten Password: Click on Forgotten Password. You will be asked to provide your username and a security code will be sent to your email. Once you receive that, follow the instructions to reset your password. Be sure to check your junk email if you do not see the code in your inbox.

When you have confirmation that your password has been reset, please log in HERE.

If you need help accessing your Campus Parent portal account please note that there will not be staff available Saturday, Aug. 31 – Sunday, Sept. 2 to answer Campus questions.

Transportation Eligibility

Students that Qualify for Transportation Services

Grade	Guidelines
Grades K-5	School bus transportation will generally be provided for elementary students who live more than one mile from their boundary school.
Grades 6-8	School bus transportation will generally be provided for middle school students who live more than one-and-a-half miles from their boundary school
Grades 9-12	School bus transportation will generally be provided for high school students who live more than two miles from their boundary school.
Magnet Programs and Gateway Program	School bus transportation will generally be provided for students attending Nuevas Fronteras Spanish Immersion Elementary School and live more than one mile from the school. School bus transportation will generally be provided for students attending the multiage program at Valley Crossing Elementary School and live more than one mile from the school. School bus transportation will generally be provided for students attending the Gateway program at Valley Crossing Elementary School and live more than one mile from the school.

Other Important Information

Transportation Opt-In

Each spring SoWashCo Schools asks every family with students attending public, private and charter schools to complete the "Opt-In" form for the next school year. This helps our transportation department create the most efficient bus routes for families eligible for transportation services.

Families that do not complete the form will not receive transportation services for the following school year.

Responses can be changed at anytime using the Request Transportation Form. Please note that it takes 3-5 days after your submission to add your student to a bus route.

Who Should Opt-in for Transportation?

Students who need district provided transportation in the morning or afternoon, everyday or a few times a week, should opt-in to receive transportation services.
Students who receive special education transportation should indicate this on the annual "Opt-in" form.
Students who only use district transportation for field trips, athletics or activities do not need to opt-in to receive transportation services.
Families that do not need transportation should answer the Opt In process as not needing transportation.

How can I check my selections from the "Opt-in" form?

After submitting the annual form in your Campus Parent Portal account (or google form for charter and non-public families) you will receive a confirmation email that will indicate your selections.

If you don't have a confirmation email you can contact transportation@sowashco.org to check your selections.

If at anytime you need to change your selections you can complete the Request Transportation Form.

Bus route information will be mailed to families mid to late-August and available in Campus Parent Portal at least a week before the first day of school.

Bus Rider IDs

All K-12 general education bus rider will receive a "Bus Rider ID." Students will scan their ID when they get on and off the bus each day.

This data allows SoWashCo Schools to maintain safe and accurate account of all students onboard as well as view capacity trends to better balance student ridership and efficiently allocate resources.

Is a Bus Rider ID required to ride the bus?

Yes. However, bus drivers will NOT turn away students who have forgotten their Bus Rider ID.
- If a Bus Rider ID is forgotten, students need to inform the bus driver and give their first and last name as then enter and exit the bus.
ECSE and students who receive special education transportation will NOT be required to participate in the Bus Ridership ID program.
Bus Rider IDs will not be used for athletic buses or field trips.

Bus Safety

Items Not Allowed on district school buses:

Any form of a weapon (knives, guns, bullets, toy weapons and weapon look-a-likes)
Flammable or hazardous materials and liquids (includes household cleaners and hairspray)
Any animal
Any item that obstructs the aisle or emergency exits of the bus
Any item that cannot be properly stowed by the student
Any large item not used for curricular or extracurricular use
Skis, snowboards, sleds, lacrosse sticks, hockey sticks, golf clubs, baseball bats, skateboards, skates and other similar sporting equipment
Band or orchestra instruments that cannot be easily stowed between the student's legs
- NOTE: Smaller instruments will be allowed if enclosed in a case and can be stowed between the student's legs or on their lap

School Bus Safety

Be on time and stay clear of danger zones
Keep your body inside the bus at all times
Be nice to each other. Bullying is not acceptable
Keep the bus clean and throw away all garbage
Absolutely no weapons are allowed
Stay seated and facing forward at all times
- Wear your seatbelt, if available
Students are not allowed to take photos or videos
Eat and drink before getting on the bus
Do not throw objects inside or outside the bus
Follow the bus driver's instructions.
- If needed, they will assign seats.

Special Education Busing

Requesting Special Education Busing

Families with students that require special education busing must work with Student Support Services to check if they meet the requirements for special education busing.
If the student qualifies, Student Support Services will work with the transportation department to get the student on a special education bus that is equipped to accommodate the student's needs.

If a student will be absent and does not need busing for the day please follow these instructions:

Press 1 on the main menu
If no one answers, please leave a message stating the student will be absent.
- Please include the student's full name and the name of their bus in your message.
