Community Education plays a key role in supporting youth through focused programs and opportunities. We provide more than just education and enrichment, we help contribute to a sound and thriving community by providing young people with engaging activities that help them grow.

Enrichment
Providing fun activities and learning opportunities for children year-round; after-school, in the evenings and on the weekends; to enhance your child's academic and social experiences while out of school.
Athletics
Elementary and middle school athletic programs are supervised and led by certified coaches, licensed teachers or knowledgeable staff who emphasize skill development, participation, teamwork, and respect for others. Community Education also offers camps and clinics to help students gear up for the athletic programs offered at South Washington County high schools.
Kids Club
Kids Club (grades K-3) and Upgrade (grades 4-5) is the school district school-age child care program, open to all South Washington County Schools students and provided at all elementary school sites throughout the district. Out-of-School Time (OST) care is available before and after school and all day on school release days, including winter, spring and summer breaks.
Swimming
Swimming and water safety is a skill that your children will use for life! SoWashCo Schools Community Education offers swimming lessons to support youth with a wide range of skill levels.

South Washington County Schools (SoWashCo Schools) offers activities and classes for youth through SoWashCo Community Education. Activities and classes are conveniently offered at your child's school, partner locations within our community and online.

Develop fundamental basketball skills in dribbling, passing, shooting and defense through drills and games. Ends with a scrimmage on the last day.
Grades K-5
This program introduces kids to basketball in a positive, structured setting that builds confidence and skills.
Ages 4-5
Learn basketball basics like dribbling and shooting using smaller hoops and balls for the perfect challenge.
Ages 3-4
Kids build confidence while learning to dribble, pass, shoot and play as a team using fun drills and games.
Ages 5-7
Designed for experienced players, build skills in all areas of volleyball while developing teamwork and leadership.
Ages 8-10
Learn volleyball fundamentals through drills and scrimmages focused on passing, serving, spiking and more.
Ages 5-7
No School? No Problem! Drop off your kids at Conquer Ninja for 2 hours of fun and activities.
Ages 5-13
Kids are introduced to basketball through fun drills and mini-games focused on dribbling, passing, shooting and defense. Parent participation required for ages 2-3 and recommended for 4+.
Ages 2-5
Coaches use imaginative play and play-to-learn concepts to teach real deceptive dribbling skills on the move.
Ages 2-7
Community Education offers teen driver’s education in partnership with Safeway Driving School. Learn to be a safe and skillful driver.
Ages 14.5-18
Explore object-oriented programming with Java while coding a test-based RPG.
No programming experience is necessary, but familiarity with common tasks using a computer operating system (text-editing and understanding directory structures) and good keyboarding skills is required.
Grades 4-8
A distance learning option with the same content as our in-person course. Classroom instruction is conducted through a secure Zoom platform.
Ages 14.5-18
Create a Mario Kart-style game using Scratch. Choose custom characters and tracks to personalize your racing game in this fun coding class.
Grades 2-5
Focus on skill development and team play while learning the fundamentals of basketball. Participate in games within the SoWashCo Schools district. Transportation is not provided.
Grades 6-8
Learn the fundamentals of wrestling and participate in matches with surrounding schools within the Suburban East Conference. For boys and girls in grades 6-8 at all SoWashCo middle schools.
