Senior Meetings

Senior Student Meetings will take place during Raptor Time for the 2019-20 school year (10:20-10:50am in the Loft Stage). The presentations will be posted below shortly after each meeting date listed below. If students have questions regarding the information presented, they should contact their counselor or administration.

Senior Parent Meeting

Senior Parents -- Please plan to attend the Senior Parent/Financial Aid & FAFSA Information Night! Important information regarding senior year deadlines, review of graduation requirements, graduation logistics, and college application overview will be presented. There will be guest speakers presenting timely and valuable information about financial aid and the FAFSA.

Senior ID Cards (2019-20)

  • Senior ID cards are made using your junior picture.
  • Seniors can pick up their student ID cards from the ERHS main office, on or after Raptor Round Up day. 

Senior Photos

  • Seniors may have yearbook photos taken by a photographer of their choice.
  • Guidelines for senior yearbook photos are on the Yearbook page.
    • November 1 - deadline to submit Senior Portrait (check Yearbook page for details)
    • December 1 - deadline to submit Senior Recognition Baby Ad (check Yearbook page for details)
  • Seniors will need to get their Lifetouch picture taken at Raptor Round Up, August 22 from 8:30am-3:00pm.

Senior Parking Permits

Full details are available on the Parking at ERHS webpage.

Seniors are allowed to leave campus during their lunch period. Seniors must show their student ID to leave the building for lunch. If you don't have you student ID when asked by security, you will not be allowed to leave the building. If you have not picked up your ID card, please stop in the main office.

Commencement & Graduation Information

Cap & Gown Distribution 

Cap & Gown Distribution will take place during all lunches, in the Cafeteria on Thursday, June 4. **NOTE: Seniors must be cleared from all academic holds, outstanding fines, senior survey, etc. prior to receiving their caps and gowns!

  • Graduation Fee: $30
    • Payment is online and opens April 1, 2020. This fee covers the cost of programs, security, decor, rentals, and other ceremony expenses. Please click on the following link to make your payment through FeePay by Friday, April 24, 2020.
    • Note: Be sure your District ID is listed in "Your Account" settings (it is the same as your Student ID). For more detailed instructions on Fee Pay troubleshooting, click here.
  • Honors Stole Fee (for selected students): $25 
    • Students will be notified if they have earned an honor stole by April 24. Students must check their SoWashCo Google Apps email for their notification. If a student has the option of accepting the Honor Stole, and must pay a fee of $25. Payment info TBD -- stay tuned! 
    • Students may keep the honor stole as a keepsake or return the stole for a refund. Returned stoles must be received to the ERHS main office by 3:30pm on Monday, June 8. Damaged or soiled stoles are not eligible for a refund. Caps & gowns are yours to keep.

Graduation Recognition

Graduation recognition is based on students' cumulative GPA after Trimester 2 of senior year. GPAs are calculated based on all for-credit courses taken during your entire high school career through the end of Trimester 2 of your senior year. We do NOT round GPAs. Students are recognized by colored stoles.

  • Summa Cum Laude with Distinction: GPA of 4.300 or above, gold stole, honors medallion
  • Summa Cum Laude: GPA of 4.000-4.299, gold stole
  • Magna Cum Laude: GPA of 3.667-3.999, silver stole
  • Cum Laude: GPA of 3.500-3.666, white stole

Golden Raptor Pin: Students who have received an Academic Letter (GPA of 3.5 or above through Trimester 2) all four years of high school will receive a Golden Raptor pin that can be worn during the commencement ceremony.

Honor Societies: Students who are active members of the following Honors Societies will be allowed to wear an additional tassel during the ceremony. Recognized honor societies include:​International Thespian Society, National Art Honors Society, National Honors Society, National Speech & Debate Society, and Tri-M Honors Society.

Graduation Speakers: Student Council class president(s) and class-elected student speaker will speak during the commencement ceremony. Additionally, the senior class will also elect a staff member to address their class.

Mandatory Commencement Practice (Fri, June 5 @ 9am)

  • All seniors participating in the Commencement Ceremony MUST report to the Perch Gym for commencement practice.
  • Be on time!
  • Graduation practice is MANDATORY!
  • Practice takes approximately 2 hours.
  • You will receive your tickets for graduation at commencement practice.

Senior Picnic 

Senior Picnic will take place following the graduation practice on Friday, June 5, at 11am, out on the Nest Patio. The Senior Picnic is provided by the ERHS PSO.

Commencement (Sun, June 7 @ 4pm) East Ridge High School Perch Gym

  • Each senior receives 4 tickets (due to seating limitations).
  • Anyone requiring Handicap or Limited Mobility seating should list it appropriately in the Ticket Request Form.
  • Seniors MUST report to the Perch Gym Door 14 by 3:00pm, dressed in their cap & gowns. Please leave all valuables at home or in your vehicles.
  • Guests enter through the Activities Entrance. Doors open at 3:00pm.
  • Guests should arrive early for parking and seating.
  • Overflow seating will be located in the Loft Stage (where a live video of the ceremony will be streamed).
    • ​Seating in the Loft Stage does not require a ticket. The Loft is air conditioned and features cushioned seats with seat-backs. This is a great location to accommodate a large family/group that is beyond your ticket allotment for the Perch Gym.
  • Doors to the Perch Gym will close at 3:59pm with no entry following. All guests who enter after doors closing will be guided to the Loft Stage overflow seating area.
  • If families have extra tickets to give up, please drop them off at the Ticket Booth before the ceremony.
  • We also will be showcasing our live video feed of the commencement ceremony through YouTube Live. Please be sure to subscribe to the channel. Tune in at 4:00pm on Sunday, June 7, 2020, to view the ceremony.
  • Lifetouch will be present at the graduation ceremony to take formal pictures of the ceremony and of each graduate as they receive their diploma. Photos will be online at 7-10 days after the ceremony. Complimentary proofs mailed to graduates. No obligation to purchase. Graduation Ticket Requests open April 1

Our Commencement Ceremony is held inside the Raptors Perch (Gymnasium) at East Ridge High School on Sunday, June 7 at 4:00pm. Each graduate will be allotted four (4) reserved tickets for family seating in the Perch. The Ticket Requests Form will open and be posted below beginning April 1 ​and will close April 24, 2020. All seats will be assigned by ERHS in random order if submitted prior to the April 24th deadline. Students on hold will not have tickets assigned until they are released from the hold list. Tickets will be distributed directly to students at the REQUIRED graduation rehearsal on Friday, June 5, 2020. All remaining tickets will be part of a lottery for all additional ticket requests. Please submit your request thoughtfully as changes cannot be made later. Any tickets turned in on the day of graduation will be handed out to those in the Loft overflow seating. Children attending the graduation ceremony MUST also have a ticket. Children are not allowed on laps.

Graduation Parking Notice

To avoid potential problems, we want to remind you that students, parents and school staff should try to carpool as much as possible as parking is limited.

Student/Graduates Ceremony Conduct

All seniors who are eligible to take part in the commencement ceremony are encouraged to participate. It should be noted that participation in the commencement ceremony is not mandatory nor a condition for the completion of graduation requirements. On graduation day, seniors should report to Door 14 next to the student parking lot beginning at 3:00pm to check-in. Seniors are to arrive in ceremony attire, and in cap and gown. All students will be asked to open their gown to check for appropriate attire and appearance before the lineup and processional begins. Commencement is a formal activity and serves as the school district's public acknowledgement of high school completion. The cap and gown are formal educational attire and are not to be altered for the ceremony. In addition, it is encouraged that all seniors participating in the commencement activity dress appropriately, with recommended attire to be worn as follows:

  • Males: Collared shirt, dress slacks, dress socks, dress shoes (no recreational shoes such as sneakers, flip-flops, etc.) NO SHORTS OR SUNGLASSES.
  • Females: Dress skirt, dress slacks or dresses, dress shoes, (no recreational shoes; flats recommended over high-heels). NO SHORTS OR SUNGLASSES.


  • Seniors should not bring purses, cameras, bags, etc., to the ceremony. We will have a secure place to store car keys and cell phones. Beverages, beach balls, signs, or any other items that may distract from the formal ceremony are not allowed.
  • Chemical Use - Students who arrive with any indication that they have used alcohol or drugs will not be permitted to participate. The student will be detailed by ERHS administration and Woodbury Police.
  • Smoking - ERHS is a tobacco-free campus. Students and spectators are not permitted to smoke on the premises.
  • Disruptive Behavior - Disruptive behavior is defined as including but not limited to, loud and abusive verbal language or the unwillingness to respond directly or appropriately to administrative directions. These actions will be considered evidence of unruly behavior. Such conduct will be the basis for removal from the ceremony.

Guest Conduct at Commencement

Commencement is considered the most formal and public of our educational ceremonies. Our seniors are celebrating the successful completion of 13 years of education. Friends and relatives are invited to honor and celebrate this achievement. We ask all who attend commencement to abide by the following guidelines:

  • The Commencement ceremony will be conducted with appropriate dignity and decorum. Do not bring air horns, whistles or any loud noise makers to the ceremony. Balloons are also not allowed. The use of these items distracts from the dignity of the ceremony.
  • We discourage large purses or bags in order to ensure comfortable seating for all in the Perch Gym bleachers. Bottled water is allowed in the Perch. Please remain from all other food or drink at the ceremony.
  • Children are to remain seated with an adult (not on laps) and are not allowed to walk the track at any time.
  • No food or drink is allowed in the overflow seating area in the Loft Stage.
  • ERHS is a tobacco-free campus. Students and spectators are not permitted to smoke on the premises.

Graduation Pictures/Photos

Commencement attendees are asked to REMAIN SEATED during the ceremony. Parents and families may take photographs from your seat while sitting, and before or after the ceremony. We have contracted with Lifetouch to take professional photographs of each graduate during the commencement ceremony.

All graduates are photographed as they cross the stage at commencement. Photos are normally available for viewing within 7-10 days following the ceremony. Be sure to visit to sign up to receive notification when your proofs are online and ready to order.

Optional Senior/Graduation Items Available For Purchase

Announcements: Students have the option to order graduation announcements through Jostens. These announcements feature our school crest on custom paper. It will also include specific information regarding the date, time and place of your ceremony. Ordering announcements is not required.
Class Rings & Tags: Proudly display your graduation in timeless fashion with Jostens class rings. Seniors have the opportunity to purchase a customized, commemorative class ring or tag from Jostens.
Apparel: Show your senior pride with quality senior apparel designed to match your style. Product availability varies by school.
Photo Cards: Photo cards are used to add personality to announce your graduation. Photo cards add a personal touch to your announcement package.

Senior Awards Night (Wed, May 20 @ 7:00pm)

Students who will be recognized at the Senior Awards Night will be notified to attend by mail.

Senior All Night Party (ANP)

The ANP is an independent event that is organized and run the parents of ERHS students. Staff or Administration are not responsible for this event.

The All Night Senior party will take place the night of graduation - mark your calendars for Sunday, June 7 from 10pm-5am at ERHS. This night has traditionally been one of the highlights of senior year and you don't want to miss it. The night includes entertainment, games and spectacular prizes!

Other Information

Your District Google Accounts

Once you gradation, in August graduated seniors will no longer have access to their school provided Googles Apps account. Make sure you download/copy the files you want to keep onto another device not owned by the District. After August, there will be no means of retrieving them. Follow the steps below:

  1. Using the device you want to download them to, log onto your Google Drive.
  2. Click on the file you want to save and download. (To download multiple files, press Shift or Control ("Command" on a Mac) while clicking other files.)
  3. Right-click and select Download.

Note: Dragging a file from Google Drive to your desktop will NOT download it. Be sure to follow the steps above.
