East Ridge High School, in conjunction with District 833, is committed to offering our students a variety of rigorous learning opportunities. Advanced Placement courses let students participate in college-level coursework while enrolled in a high school setting.

Students can earn college credit, stand out in the college admissions process, gain skills that will help them succeed in college, and broaden their intellectual horizons.

Students taking AP courses at East Ridge High School are prepared to take the AP exam but also develop learning habits needed to handle more rigorous coursework, improve their writing skills, and sharpen their problem-solving abilities. Because of space and personnel constraints, we are typically only able to offer AP exams for AP courses currently taught at ERHS.

AP designates a variety of scholar awards to students who earn a grade of 3 (out of 5) on their AP exam. East Ridge is proud to recognize the achievement of our AP Scholars each fall at the Academic Awards Night.

We encourage all our AP students to commit to taking the cumulative post-course AP exam(s) in May. Starting in 2019-20, online instructional resources are available for AP students at https://apstudents.collegeboard.org. Students should contact their AP teacher for the join codes for these class resources.

Dates for 2019 AP Tests are May 4-15, 2020
