Activities

• Online registration for Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) activities opens on July 15.
  • Registration takes place through the SoWashCo Schools fee payment system. 
    • You will need your child's student ID number to register. This can be found in Campus Parent Portal. 
  • If your family qualifies for free or reduced price meals, your family would also qualify for free or reduced price activities and clubs.

How to Register for activities

• In order to register, you will need to have an updated physical on file and current in the past 3 years.  The system will not let you register without a physical on file.
• Physicals must be valid through the end of the varsity season for that sport. 
• Physicals received in the Activities Office will need 48 hours for processing. Most will be process within 24 hours, but using 48 hours in the event it is received on the weekend.  Please make sure all physicals are turned in by  Friday, Aug. 13 to be able to tryout for any AM practices on Monday, August 16. 
• The Activities Office must have entered the date of your current physical in the registration system in order for you to register.  If you receive this message " You need to provide an updated sports physical for registration" and you have provided the Activities Office a copy, please make sure 48 hours have passed for us to process your physical. 
• Please make sure your student has a current physical, which can be checked by going under the Health tab of your Parent Portal account.      
• Forms can be faxed to (651)-425-2305, scanned an emailed to skaczmar@sowashco.org or brought to the activities office.

Letter Winners

Students at East Ridge have the opportunity to earn a varsity letter in academics, arts, and athletics. Earning a letter is a significant accomplishment! Coaches and Advisors develop specific lettering policies for their particular activity, and communicate standards to participants and parents. Students are typically notified of their lettering status at an end of the season banquet or a similar culminating activity.

All East Ridge letter winners receive an official certificate. Letter winners receive their first ER chenille letter from the Coach or Advisor. Students and families choosing to purchase the official East Ridge Letter Jacket through:

EAST RIDGE HIGH SCHOOL: VARSITY LETTER POLICY

SoWashCo Schools and East Ridge High School value student accomplishments. Students will be recognized in our community for outstanding effort, positive contributions, and exemplary achievement.

Students at East Ridge have the opportunity to earn a varsity letter in academics, arts, and athletics.

Earning a letter is a significant accomplishment. East Ridge High School reserves the right for head coaches and advisors to determine specific lettering policies for their activity. Coaches and advisors will develop and communicate baseline expectations that incorporate, but are not limited to, the following components: academics, behavior, participation, and citizenship/community service.

Athletics, arts, and activities programs can award varsity letters if they are sanctioned and recognized competitions by the MSHSL, Suburban East Conference, or similar governing body with regulatory, governing control over the competition of individuals or teams representing East Ridge (i.e., MN High School Bowling League, Math League, Clay Target League, FIRST).

The staff advisor of any other East Ridge activity that wishes to award varsity letters may request a review by the Activities Director. Key components to be considered:

• Is it a competitive activity sanctioned by a governing body?
• Do the teams or individuals represent East Ridge HS when they compete? Do they wear a East Ridge uniform? Do they compete against other high school teams?
• Does the activity have a school staff member as coach/advisor?

In order to attend a dance that is hosted by East Ridge High School (ERHS), individuals who are not students currently enrolled at ERHS must have one of the forms below completed and returned or faxed (651-425-2305) to the ERHS Administrative Office no later than 3:00 pm the day prior to the dance.
