East Ridge student, Amy Guo, elected President of Minnesota Business Professionals of America

East Ridge High School senior Amy Guo was elected as the President of Minnesota Business Professionals of America (BPA) at their annual Fall Leadership Conference this week.

When asked about being elected state president Amy said, "I am most excited to work with a great team of passionate state officers to make our mark on Minnesota Business Professionals of America. Our goals are to increase involvement in our service awards and to recruit new members. I am looking forward to an exciting year of BPA!"

Business Professionals of America is a non-profit career and technical student organization with chapters across the country. The Minnesota association held its Fall Leadership Conference on Sun., Oct. 29 and Mon., Oct. 30 in Bloomington. At the conference, students participated in educational seminars and workshops, as well as leadership training. Students also conducted business of the association and elected a leadership team.

Amy has been a member of BPA for three years. Last year, she was chapter president and participated nationally in her business competitions. She has also been awarded the Ambassador Torch Award which is a national service award.
